Katie McCaughey is an Artist and Illustrator who's practice utilises Irish folklore and mythology to explore themes of displacement, identity and lost heritage. Working primarily in print, she explores reconnecting with a cultural past.
Collaboration is also central to her practice. She is a Volunteer with “The Claremont Project” which organises art and wellness classes for the over 55. She also hosts her own workshops with “Unpressed”. These include printmaking, bookbinding and sewing and aim to bring people together with the joy of making.
Her latest project "BRIGID; EXALTED ONE" explores the significance of Brigid as a symbol of Irish identity in ten hand drawn and printed etchings.
